Job Summary

The Vice President for University Advancement is a key leadership position responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive advancement strategy to support the university's mission and vision. This includes cultivating and maintaining relationships with alumni, donors, and other stakeholders to secure financial support for the university's programs and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a robust advancement strategy that aligns with the university's strategic goals and enhances its fundraising capacity.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with alumni, donors, and other stakeholders to secure financial support for the university's programs and initiatives.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of major fundraising campaigns, including capital campaigns, annual giving programs, and special initiatives.
  • Lead and mentor a team of advancement professionals to achieve fundraising goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with university leaders and stakeholders to advance the university's mission and vision.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in advancement, fundraising, or related areas in higher education or at a comparable environment.
  • Proven track record of successful major gift fundraising, strategic planning, and team leadership.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to inspire diverse constituencies to engage with and support the university.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters or higher degree and/or CFRE or other fundraising certification.
  • Change management experience within a large, complex organization.
  • Ability to create a positive, supportive, and inclusive organizational culture.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires a high level of travel, including domestic and international trips. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders, including university leaders, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, and other external partners.
