As the Lead Clinical Nutrition Specialist, you will evaluate patients' dietary needs utilizing established assessment methods, manage clinical nutrition operations, and guide fellow professionals. Your leadership will be instrumental in advising patients, families, and caregivers on tailored nutrition strategies aimed at enhancing health outcomes.

In this role, you will engage with patients presenting complex health challenges (such as pediatric, bariatric, and ICU cases) that necessitate advanced skills in nutrition therapy. You will conduct thorough nutritional evaluations that consider age, gender, and cultural backgrounds, and you will perform routine screenings to identify individuals at nutritional risk. Collaboration within a multidisciplinary team will be key to delivering comprehensive care while ensuring outstanding service to patients and their families.

Furthermore, you will enhance your professional development by overseeing clinical nutrition operations and mentoring other dietitians and students in the essential practices and responsibilities of our department.

Responsibilities

+ Formulate individualized nutrition intervention plans that specify appropriate feeding methods and dietary prescriptions tailored to each patient's unique requirements, in line with physician directives.

+ Assess and document patient responses to nutritional interventions, ensuring that measurable goals outlined in the nutrition care plan are met promptly and accurately.

+ Revise care plans as necessary and maintain follow-up with patients as required.

+ Assist in ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet clinical demands while promoting cost-effectiveness.

+ Lead the training and development of Clinical Dietitians I & II, as well as other relevant positions, to enhance team capabilities.

+ Facilitate Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) training sessions and workshops for hospital staff, including nurses, therapists, and physicians.

+ Collaborate with the Food and Nutrition Services team to improve the overall patient experience.

Qualifications

+ Minimum of two (2) years as a Clinical Dietitian II or four (4) years of experience in an acute care setting with complex patient populations.

+ Bachelor's Degree with completion of an accredited dietitian program (ACEND - Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition Dietetics).

+ Valid registration as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

+ State licensure as a Dietitian in applicable states.

Pay Range

$36.52/hour
