POSITION SUMMARY:

The Café Service Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality food and beverage service, which may include training as a Barista. This role ensures prompt and courteous service to guests, whether in the café or on the patio, and reports directly to the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Welcome and serve guests with enthusiasm and friendliness.
  • Establish rapport with guests by addressing menu inquiries and offering beverage recommendations from our coffee and smoothie selections.
  • Process food and beverage orders and relay food requests to the kitchen staff.
  • Prepare beverages, including coffee and smoothies, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Deliver food and beverages to guests at their tables, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Manage cash and card transactions accurately, ensuring correct change is provided.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, complying with all health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure equipment is clean and functioning properly, reporting any maintenance needs to a supervisor.
  • Identify and communicate potential safety concerns or customer issues to management.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the resort's offerings to encourage guest exploration of additional services.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One to three months of relevant experience preferred.
  • Must meet state and federal age requirements for serving alcohol, if applicable.
  • Current Food Handlers card required.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and discounts.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions and correspondence.
  • Capable of preparing beverages while engaging with guests and team members.
  • Effective communication skills for interactions with guests and colleagues.
  • Positive attitude and ability to contribute to a friendly work environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrates initiative and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This role operates in both indoor and outdoor café settings, utilizing computer/register and beverage equipment. Outdoor work may involve exposure to various weather conditions and navigating typical obstacles.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Regularly required to see, hear, and communicate clearly. The position involves standing, walking, and bending, as well as using hands for tasks. Frequent hand washing is necessary, and the ability to lift items weighing up to 20 pounds may be required.
