Job Summary:

Under the supervision of a licensed clinician, the Therapist Adoption Support Specialist will provide comprehensive therapeutic services to adopted children and adoptive parents. This includes assessing client needs, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing direct counseling and therapeutic services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of client therapeutic needs
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and CWS staff
  • Provide direct counseling and therapeutic services to individuals, families, and groups
  • Complete and submit required reports, documentation, and billing accurately and timely
  • Participate in supervisory process for guidance, direction, support, and approval of decision-making, assessment, treatment planning, and intervention

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Counseling or Social Work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program, or a Master's Degree in a field related to social work or counseling from an accredited college or university plus three years of subsequent work as a therapist
  • LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, or willingness to work toward licensure under a licensed supervisor
  • Knowledge of DSM 5/ICD-10 and their applications, under the supervision of a licensed clinician
  • Excellent communication, organization, presentation, and pc/computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Valid Illinois driver's license and proof of automobile liability insurance
