About Trilogy at Vistancia:

Trilogy at Vistancia features three distinct club experiences: the renowned golf club, the original community hub, Kiva Club, and the newly established Mita Club. Our offerings include a golf course, a premier restaurant, V's Taproom, a full-service spa, and a versatile events venue, all accessible to the public.

Position Overview:

The Café Service Specialist may also receive training as a Barista, responsible for serving food and beverages while delivering prompt and courteous service to guests in the café or on the patio. This role reports directly to the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Welcome and serve guests in a friendly and energetic manner.
  2. Foster relationships with guests by addressing menu inquiries and suggesting beverages from our coffee and smoothie selections.
  3. Process food and beverage orders and relay food requests to the kitchen.
  4. Prepare beverages, including coffee and smoothies, adhering to standard recipes and presentation guidelines; seek clarification when necessary.
  5. Deliver food and beverages to guests at their tables, both indoors and outdoors.
  6. Manage cash and card transactions, ensuring accuracy in charges and providing correct change to guests.
  7. Maintain a safe and hygienic work environment by keeping the workspace clean and organized, in compliance with sanitation standards.
  8. Ensure equipment is clean and functioning properly by following operational guidelines; troubleshoot issues and perform preventative maintenance as needed.
  9. Report equipment repair needs to a supervisor.
  10. Identify and communicate potential safety concerns or customer issues to a supervisor.
  11. Possess a thorough understanding of the resort facilities to encourage guests to explore additional services.
  12. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications / Skills:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One to three months of relevant experience preferred.
  • Must meet state and federal minimum age requirements for serving alcohol, if applicable.
  • Current Food Handlers card required.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including discounts and percentages.
  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to prepare beverages using bar equipment while engaging in conversation with team members and guests, even in a noisy environment.
  • Effective communication skills to present information clearly to individuals and small groups.
  • Ability to foster a positive and productive work environment through a friendly attitude and calm demeanor.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to follow directions and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate initiative and the ability to make sound decisions quickly.
  • Attention to detail and comfort in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.

Work Environment:

This position operates in both indoor and outdoor café settings, utilizing computer/register and beverage equipment. Outdoor work may involve exposure to various weather conditions and occasional wildlife. The noise level can range from moderate to loud, and outdoor tasks may require navigating various terrains while carrying trays of food and beverages.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands outlined here represent those encountered while performing essential job functions. Regular requirements include seeing, hearing detailed information, and speaking clearly. This role is active, requiring standing, walking, bending, and using hands for various tasks. Frequent hand washing is necessary, and the ability to occasionally lift or push/pull items weighing up to 20 pounds is required.
