Position Overview

The ideal candidate will possess experience in desktop support. This role requires approximately 30-35 hours of work per week and is strictly on-site. Candidates must successfully complete a polygraph examination.

Key Responsibilities

Under general supervision, the incumbent will be responsible for delivering second-level technical assistance and resolving desktop hardware and software issues for end users. Duties include but are not limited to:

1. Addressing technology service desk trouble tickets to troubleshoot personal computer issues through on-site or remote simulation and/or re-creation of the user's problem.

2. Documenting the diagnostic and resolution steps taken; maintaining records of statistics, tracking requirements, and hardware/software maintenance and repair.

3. Installing and configuring new computer hardware and software, including desktop computers, peripheral devices, and mobile technology such as tablets and laptops.

4. Upgrading and maintaining various software applications and computer hardware.

5. Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and rectifying software and hardware issues.

6. Closing trouble tickets upon service completion or problem resolution.

7. Participating in the testing and implementation of new systems and procedures.

8. Keeping accurate records for hardware inventories, including computers, keyboards, laptops, tablets, printers, and cables.

9. Referring complex issues to senior support personnel or determining an appropriate resolution path as necessary.

10. Requisitioning supplies and materials as needed.

11. Transporting IT equipment between facilities as required.

12. Providing support for the technology service desk on an as-needed basis.

Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) years of experience in providing technical hardware/software support for desktop systems and applications. Significant coursework in information technology or a related field may substitute for one year of experience. A certificate from a vocational program in a computer-related technology may also substitute for one year of experience.

Possession of a valid driver's license is required. By the end of the probationary period, incumbents must hold a valid CompTIA A+ certification.
