Position Overview:

As a Field Service Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of our vehicles across various locations. This position involves traveling extensively to service and maintain a fleet of light and medium-duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Auction Managers and District Managers to discuss completed repairs and service needs.
  • Provide insightful recommendations for operational enhancements to your supervisor.
  • Oversee the ordering, tracking, and return of parts from national suppliers.
  • Transport parts to job sites and perform installations or removals on vehicles.
  • Engage in 50% to 75% travel to designated branches for service duties.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle records and reporting, both manually and digitally.
  • Conduct basic repairs to ensure vehicles are operational.
  • Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of the Mobile Service Truck.
  • Communicate effectively with auction managers via email and in-person as needed.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in vehicle maintenance or an auto/diesel technology diploma with 2+ years of automotive mechanic experience.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License and necessary automotive insurance.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Excel, Word, and email communication.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Capable of interpreting reports and weather forecasts to optimize service plans.
  • Experience in parts ordering and tracking.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must have a comprehensive toolset and toolbox.
  • Physical capability to perform repairs, including bending, stooping, and lifting.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Mobile mechanic experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to handle exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals.
  • Reliable transportation and readiness to travel frequently.
