Job Summary

Qualus Services is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician I to join our team. As a Field Service Technician I, you will be responsible for performing testing on low and medium voltage breakers, completing mechanical work and repairs on breakers, and installing and modifying switchgear control wiring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performing testing on low and medium voltage breakers, including Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and Timing tests.
  • Completing mechanical work and repairs on breakers, including tear down, refurbishment, and parts replacement.
  • Installing and modifying switchgear control wiring.
  • Utilizing and accurately reading meters.
  • Reading schematics and wiring drawings.
  • Troubleshooting circuit breaker controls.
  • Testing power and current transformers, including Power Factor and TTR.
  • Accurately and consistently documenting using Power DB.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant experience.
  • Associate or Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Candidates must be able to perform physical activity such as pushing, pulling, lifting, and bending in all types of weather extremes.
  • Candidates must be able to lift at least 30 lbs. without assistance.
  • Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Reference and complete assignments as described in applicable specifications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, and time management skills.
  • Ability to read company manuals and reports, workplace rules and procedures; speak with poise and confidence, using correct English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Valid Driver's license and good driving record.
