Black River Systems Company, a research-oriented engineering firm, is seeking a skilled Signal Processing Engineer to join our team.

We are looking for an individual who can develop signal processing algorithms to detect, decode, and process digital communication signals. The successful candidate will participate in field tests, signal modeling for operational planning, and building and testing commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) systems, such as software-defined radios (SDRs), for use in prototype signal collection and processing systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop digital signal processing algorithms and analysis tools.
  • Incorporate traditional Signal Processing, Machine Learning (ML), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques.
  • Conduct data processing and analysis.
  • Perform signal detection, characterization, and geolocation operations.
  • Implement algorithms in hardware systems as research progresses toward operational implementation.
  • Process raw signals I/Q.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in math, electrical engineering, or a related field, and industry experience is desired.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in developing RF signal processing or digital communications.
  • Familiarity with software-defined radio hardware and software interfaces.
  • Develop signal processing algorithms to collect, detect, and process digital communication signals.
  • Experience in receiver design, including digital filtering, channel estimation, equalization, demodulation, and decoding.
  • Ability to simulate and/or analyze sensor system performance.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, and C/C++ programming languages.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex signaling systems and provide technical support for hardware design.
  • US citizenship and eligibility for a Department of Defense security clearance.
