Civil Engineering Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Manager to lead our team in planning and supervising the design, financing, construction, and maintenance of projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and the ability to work well with a team.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee a team of engineers and administrative staff to facilitate capital improvement projects across highways and facilities, managing over $20 million in projects per year.
- Collaborate with the hiring manager on major projects and policy decisions.
- Ensure effective project management practices are followed, including scope, schedule, design management, budget control, and review.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on project progress, budget status, and resource allocation to stakeholders.
- Ensure all engineering and construction activities comply with local laws, regulations, and standards.
- Oversee the procurement process, including the development of bid specifications and the evaluation of bids.
- Coordinate with governmental agencies, contractors, and the public to facilitate project approvals and execution.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of engineering staff, providing guidance, and conducting performance reviews to ensure high standards of work quality and efficiency.
- Oversee the maintenance and improvement of existing infrastructure to ensure safety and functionality.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for operations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in civil engineering.
- New York State Professional Engineer (P.E.) License required.
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in civil engineering preferred.
- 6 – 10 years' proven civil engineering experience preferred.
- Strong technical project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well with a team & delegate tasks as required.
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
- Proficient in office software and communication tools.
- Driver's license required.
- Full Time, 40-hours per week, schedule flexibility available.
- Onsite with occasional travel to job sites as needed – a company vehicle will be provided.
