Job Title: Controls Engineer

At Motus, we are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to join our team at our Old Fort Facility. As a Controls Engineer, you will play a critical role in taking our Motus systems to the next level.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, controls, devices, and systems to enhance overall productivity.
  • Troubleshoot and work with Allen-Bradley PLC 500, RS Logix, Micro Logix, Compact Logix, Control Logix, and Siemens PLC programming.
  • Identify, research, and resolve deficiencies that contribute to excessive scrap and machine downtime.
  • Direct implementation of process changes and installation of new equipment.
  • Collaborate with quality, operations, and manufacturing employees to ensure that manufacturing and plant processes and equipment produce a product that meets all quality and engineering standards.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive controls/electrical.
  • PLC and HMI programming.
  • Strong mechanical background.
  • Familiarity with Ethernet/IP Industrial Protocol, Vision Sensors, and Bar Code Scanning systems.
  • Effective problem-solving and root-cause analytical skills to lead and influence others to drive change.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Ability to read machine drawings and control schematics.
  • Familiarity with robots and robot controllers.
Desired Skills:
  • Fabrication/tooling experience is a plus.
  • Electrical journeyman card is a plus.
  • Experience working with a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) system is a plus.
  • Experience working with smart cameras (i.e. Keyence, Cognex, Banner) is a plus.
