Our 5 North unit is a 38-bed facility that provides comprehensive care to a diverse range of medical, surgical, and chronically ill patients. We specialize in the care of patients with diabetes and renal failure, and our team is equipped to handle patients who require telemetry and oximetry monitoring. Our patient-to-nurse ratio is adjusted based on acuity, ensuring that each patient receives the highest level of care. Our nurses partner with universities to support student nurses through precepting, mentoring, and role modeling. Our goal is to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to all patients while welcoming their families.

Scope of WorkAs a Registered Nurse on our 5 North unit, you will utilize the nursing process to provide professional care to patients and families. You will work under the direction of the Nurse Leader and adhere to Corewell Health policies and procedures. You will partner with patients and families to develop individualized plans of care, provide education and support, and document patient progress. You will also participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive, supportive work environment.

- Associate's degree in Nursing is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required within 5 years.
- Graduates from non-accredited nursing schools must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed healthcare role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) licensure is required.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
