Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our team at Associated Materials. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for driving process improvements, ensuring high-quality production, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Collaborate with production technicians to troubleshoot issues, document operating conditions, and notify supervisors as needed.
  • Work closely with New Product Development and Engineering teams to launch new products and ensure smooth production transitions.
  • Investigate and propose improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost, and aid in the development of management system processes and metric tracking initiatives.
  • Conduct root cause analysis, troubleshoot manufacturing and business issues, and develop budgets and cost analysis to determine project feasibility.
  • Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
  • Coordinate process re-engineering activities to improve efficiencies and consistency within the operation.
  • Monitor and benchmark performance against business strategy metrics and collaborate with site maintenance and operations on continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Promote the diagnosis of work-flow impediments and other wastes throughout the business and provide guidance on appropriate tools to eliminate them.
  • Facilitate training of operators to create products effectively and efficiently, on time and on budget.
  • Review activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives.
  • Meet and exceed assigned KPI metrics and regularly review performance with the team.
  • Be a visible, approachable, and role-model leader for your team and within the site.
  • Improve product quality, lead time, turnover, safety, and performance.
  • Communicate effectively with the team, site, and the larger Manufacturing Operations team.
  • Maintain an accident-free workplace while complying with OSHA standards.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time and to alternate working shifts.
  • Perform other activities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A University or College degree/diploma in a related field such as mechanical, electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Above average skills with Microsoft suite of tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent professional presentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Skilled at identifying customer needs and designing business processes and solutions to meet internal/external customer requirements.
  • Demonstrates innovative thinking and initiative in the analysis, planning, and development of projects.
  • Sense of urgency and self-motivation.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to motivate employees to achieve results.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
