Position: Process Engineer (Wet Mill)
This role is a full-time, exempt position.

Role Summary:
The Process Engineer will provide engineering expertise and leadership within a production department. The primary objective is to utilize engineering skills to spearhead and contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing personnel safety, process efficiency, environmental compliance, product quality, and cost management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and analyze current manufacturing processes, pinpoint areas for enhancement, and propose actionable solutions based on data-driven insights.
  • Support daily operations, including overseeing production, maintenance, and contractor activities as necessary.
  • Offer technical assistance during problem-solving efforts to address process and maintenance challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of new processes, technologies, and equipment.
  • Engage actively with operations, maintenance, and contractor teams to uphold and enhance facilities, equipment, and safety initiatives.
  • Facilitate and lead technical training sessions to cultivate the skills of operational colleagues.
  • Manage capital projects up to 5 million USD and participate as a key stakeholder in larger project teams executing projects exceeding 5 million USD.
  • Demonstrate leadership in promoting safety initiatives and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in process safety, with knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) programs being advantageous.
  • Collaborate with external plant teams (CAPEX, Technology, Maintenance, Safety, Environmental, Quality/Food Safety, Performance Excellence, Performance Management) to develop and implement continuous improvement projects.
  • Lead contractor teams during project execution phases, prioritizing both occupational and process safety.
Educational Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Agricultural, Mechanical preferred).
Essential Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient understanding of engineering documentation, including P&IDs and control narratives.
  • Capability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • High motivation and a results-oriented approach.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in the manufacturing or construction sectors.
  • Familiarity with Capital Project Management.
  • Proficiency in engineering software/tools (CAD, Statistical Analysis, Process Modeling).
Work Environment:
  • 50% fieldwork, 50% office work.
  • Ability to walk long distances and stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Capability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
