Job Description

Gray is seeking an experienced Architecture Design Manager to lead our industrial architecture projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the design process, ensuring high-quality results, and collaborating with our multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the design process for industrial architecture projects, ensuring compliance with Gray's standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and project managers, to deliver unique and customized solutions for our clients.
  • Develop and manage design schedules, estimates of A/E costs, and ensure accurate cost control.
  • Review design proposal criteria, facilitate proposal document preparation, and provide research on project design, applicable codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Consult with clients to determine functional and spatial requirements, prepare design information, and integrate engineering elements into unified designs.
  • Prepare and administer design contracts, facilitate design reviews, and present current design documents for client approval.
  • Coordinate design activities with clients and Gray AE sub-consultants, and manage all administrative tasks related to design.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of seven years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, email, and Revit applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced innovative company and collaborate with a team environment.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this position, the team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, and talk or hear. They are regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs.

Frequently in a normal office environment where noise level is moderate and temperature/humidity is controlled. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. May be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibrations.

Overtime will be required. Some travel will be required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

May supervise 1 to 3 team members, including Architectural Technicians and Assistant Design Managers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include training team members, planning, assigning, and directing work; providing input for appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
