Job Title: Design Manager - Industrial Architecture

Gray AE, PSC is seeking a highly skilled Design Manager - Industrial Architecture to join our team in Fullerton, CA.

Job Summary:

The Design Manager - Industrial Architecture will be responsible for leading the design team in the development of industrial architecture projects. This includes overseeing the design process, ensuring compliance with Gray AE, PSC's standards and procedures, and managing the design schedule and estimate of A/E costs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design team in the development of industrial architecture projects
  • Oversee the design process, ensuring compliance with Gray AE, PSC's standards and procedures
  • Manage the design schedule and estimate of A/E costs
  • Coordinate design activities with customers and Gray AE, PSC sub-consultants
  • Facilitate design reviews and presentations of current design documents for customer review and approval
  • Develop and administer design contracts with customers and/or sub-consultants
  • Manage all administrative tasks related to design for the project
  • Manage all costs related to design activities to ensure accurate cost control
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or minimum of seven years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail, and Revit applications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced innovative company

While performing the duties of this position, the team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, and talk or hear. They are regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities include accurate near and distant vision.

Frequently in a normal office environment where noise level is moderate and temperature/humidity is controlled. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. May be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibrations. Noise level on the job site is normally moderate to loud. Overtime will be required. Some travel will be required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

May supervise 1 to 3 team members such as Architectural Technicians and Assistant Design Managers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training team members, planning, assigning, and directing work; provides input for appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
