Job Title

We are seeking a talented Mathematics Teacher to join our team at The SEED Public Charter School of Washington D.C. As a Mathematics Teacher, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction in Algebra I through Pre-calculus, promoting student progress through High School Math standards and preparing them for college-level coursework.

About the Role

The successful candidate will create an engaging learning environment that fosters active student participation, balanced with conceptual understanding and procedural skills. Essential duties include lesson planning, assessment, instruction, monitoring, and reporting student progress. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, technology expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, faculty, and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement engaging lesson plans, incorporating technology and innovative instructional methodologies.
  • Assess student learning, using various evaluation methods to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, administrators, parents, and students, maintaining open lines of communication.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, common assessments, and professional development opportunities.
  • Monitor and report student progress, providing regular feedback and support.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
  • Praxis II passing score required in the content area.
  • Master's in a related field and/or prior teaching experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of K-12 teaching standards and frameworks.
  • A commitment to diversity and inclusion, with exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Estimated Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
