Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Network Engineer to join our team at LCG. As a key member of our IT infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our wide-area networks (WANs) and local-area networks (LANs) within an enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the installation, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of WAN and LAN infrastructure.
- Assist in the design, implementation, and management of WAN infrastructure and related processes.
- Provide production support for the network, handling day-to-day operations, monitoring, and resolving client network issues.
- Offer second-level problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
- Coordinate with circuit and hardware vendors to address issues, dispatch technicians as necessary, and escalate communication to management and internal customers.
- Monitor network performance, analyze problems, and ensure rapid and efficient resolution.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to drive continuous network performance improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, Engineering, or a related field or Four years of related experience may be substituted for the education degree requirement.
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting the installation, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of WANs and LANs.
- Experience with Cisco firewalls and the management of network security.
- Proven ability to provide production support for network operations, including monitoring and problem resolution.
- Experience coordinating with hardware and circuit vendors for problem resolution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with the design and management of WAN infrastructure.
- Familiarity with the escalation and communication processes in network operations.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with agency management and internal customers.
- Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) would be a plus.
Compensation and Benefits:
The projected compensation range for this position is $130,000 to $150,000 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The target salary is $140,000. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
