Job Summary

As a Medical Assistant at Community Health Centers, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include preparing patients for interactions with healthcare providers, assisting with coordination of patient care, and performing routine clinical duties as directed by the provider.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care Coordination: Participate in patient care coordination, pre-visit planning, huddles, one-on-one communication, and documentation of patient services and health care-related concerns.
  • Routine Clinical Duties: Answer phone calls, collect patient history, gather information pertinent to visits, document communication, and administer immunizations and medications as ordered.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with administrative paperwork, schedule patient appointments, label and process specimens, and perform various tests.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, completion of Medical Assistant course, or documented proof of on-the-job training in a doctor's office.
  • Experience: At least one year of experience in medical assistant functions, with ability to demonstrate organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Certification/Licensure: Current/valid BLS certification, or must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.
