We are seeking a highly skilled Sterilization Specialist to join our team at AdventHealth Waterman. As a key member of our Sterile Processing Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Job DescriptionThe ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and be proficient in sterilization processes, instrument handling, and inventory management. You will be responsible for manually and mechanically decontaminating, preparing, and sterilizing medical devices and equipment, while adhering to strict quality control measures.
Additionally, you will participate in routine inspections and monitoring of instrumentation and equipment, assist with preventative maintenance, and order and receive essential supply stock as directed.
Responsibilities- Decontaminate all surgical instruments and equipment after use.
- Select appropriate disinfectants, detergents, and sterilization methods according to device type and instructions for use.
- Inspect, assemble, and package instrument and equipment trays in a timely manner.
- Load and unload sterilizers to ensure proper sterilization conditions.
- Monitor sterilizers and approve printouts from each load.
- Achieve accurate documentation of biological results and notify supervisor of any deviations.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Certification in Sterile Processing (CSPDT).
- Two years' experience working in Sterile Processing or a related field is preferred.
- Cerner, Word, and Excel experience is also preferred.
We offer a competitive salary range of $17.87-$24.46 per hour, based on location and experience. Benefits include 401(k), dental insurance, health insurance, paid time off, pet insurance, and vision insurance.
This is a full-time position with an estimated 36-40 hours per week. Schedule includes day shifts, Monday through Friday. Ability to commute to Tavares, FL 32778 is required.
