Job Description

The Pediatric Nurse Specialist will be responsible for providing clinical and clerical services, including rooming patients, assisting with exams and procedures, performing waived lab tests, starting IVs, taking verbal orders, and administering medications. You will also be expected to actively participate in outstanding customer service and maintain relationships that are respectful to all patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor physicians' schedules and ensure patients are prepared and ready on time for visits
  • Rroom patients, including vital signs, reason for visit, patient history, allergies, and complete documentation following nursing protocols
  • Assist physicians with examinations and procedures
  • Maintain open communication to ensure quality care
  • Audit ordered tests to ensure results are received and followed up on in a timely manner
  • Cover triage calls and ensure calls are answered timely and documented appropriately
  • Administer IVs and accept physician orders by phone and verbally

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Licensed Practical Nursing school
  • Current, active LPN license in the state of Florida
  • Active BLS certification
