Job Summary

ProMedica Health System is seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital. As a key member of our Respiratory Care Department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a healing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver patient-centered care to individuals of all ages, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
  • Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, including general care, critical care, emergency care, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Operate and maintain therapeutic and diagnostic equipment, including gas administration devices, mechanical ventilators, and laboratory equipment.
  • Provide education to patients on disease-specific processes, tobacco cessation, and respiratory care services.
  • Assist with clinical instruction of respiratory care, nursing, medical students, and residents.
  • Participate in creating a plan of care, evaluating achievement of identified goals, and recording results.
Requirements
  • A graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program and maintain credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Licensed to render respiratory care services by the respective state(s) of practice – Ohio and/or Michigan.
  • Current BLS certification. ACLS, NRP, and PALS certification is recommended, and may be required at some business units.
