Job Summary

Alto HealthCare Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Critical Care Nurse to join our team in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care to critically ill patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment and Care: Conduct thorough and ongoing assessments of patients' conditions, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assessing the need for interventions.
  • Critical Care Delivery: Provide specialized care to critically ill patients, including those with complex medical conditions, post-surgical recovery, and trauma-related injuries.
  • Ventilator Management: Monitor and manage patients on mechanical ventilation, ensuring proper settings and patient comfort.
  • Medication Administration and Management: Administer medications, fluids, and blood products as prescribed, and monitor patient responses while maintaining accurate records.
  • Collaborative Care and Communication: Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Emergency Response and Preparedness: Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies, including code blue situations, and provide immediate life-saving interventions.
  • Patient and Family Education: Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Competently operate and troubleshoot complex medical equipment used in the ICU.
  • Infection Control and Prevention: Strictly adhere to infection control protocols to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, including assessments, interventions, and progress notes.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Current Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS certifications are required. Additional certifications such as CCRN or TNCC are a plus.
  • Experience and Skills: Previous ICU nursing experience is preferred, but new graduates with a strong interest in critical care may be considered. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
