Boston, Massachusetts, United States Parity Full time
Job Overview

Position: Senior Building Intelligence Engineer

Company: Parity

ABOUT PARITY:

In urban environments, buildings contribute significantly to carbon emissions, accounting for 40% of the CO2 released into the atmosphere. Effective management of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems is crucial, as a substantial portion of energy consumption is often wasted due to inadequate technology.

Parity specializes in Remote HVAC Optimization as a Service, offering continuous control and enhancement of HVAC systems to generate automatic energy savings and revenue for multifamily residential buildings and hotels. By utilizing sophisticated algorithms, we can forecast energy requirements and adjust building systems in real-time to meet occupant needs efficiently.

ROLE SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Senior Building Intelligence Engineer located in the Boston area to ensure our clients' buildings are effectively integrated with Parity's services.

Your engineering expertise and understanding of HVAC automation will be essential as you collaborate with our Sales and Operations teams to guarantee that all properties in our portfolio are accurately quoted, set up, and optimized throughout their engagement with us. We value candidates who are driven, eager to learn, and passionate about energy efficiency and ClimateTech.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform on-site evaluations of client buildings to estimate initial savings, integration costs, and service benefits.
  • Utilize Parity's analytical tools to conduct energy assessments based on site evaluations, historical utility data, mechanical specifications, and existing control sequences.
  • Oversee the installation and setup phases of Parity's services, ensuring timely project completion and budget adherence while keeping clients informed.
  • Facilitate communication between Parity's software and field devices, testing control sequences with support from our programming team to minimize energy waste.
  • Complete final system commissioning to meet Parity, client, and incentive program standards.
  • Manage the incentive application and procurement processes for Parity.
  • Engage with building staff to understand current control protocols and identify challenges.
  • Assist the sales team by providing market insights and developing proposals.
  • Support the service delivery team as a technical resource for active buildings in the Parity system.
  • Collaborate with Operations to assist customers during and post-installation.
  • Maintain knowledge of local incentive programs and requirements relevant to Parity's services.
  • Build and sustain relationships with local contractors in electrical, mechanical, and controls sectors.
  • Oversee procurement of necessary hardware and installation service pricing.
  • Optimize existing systems and processes to enhance service delivery in the Boston market.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on local building emissions regulations and related policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Engineering, with a focus on HVAC, building automation, or mechanical/electrical engineering.
  • 2-5 years of experience in areas such as energy auditing, MEP engineering, or building automation.
  • Familiarity with energy incentive programs.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites within the greater Boston area.
  • A proactive approach to learning and adapting in a dynamic startup environment.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and improve processes independently.
  • A strong focus on efficiency and optimization of workflows.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in MEP drawings, project management, building automation systems, or Niagara Tridium products.

WHY WORK WITH US?

At Parity, you will play a vital role in a rapidly growing company that is dedicated to reducing CO2 emissions in multifamily buildings and hotels. You will have the opportunity to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment while enjoying the following benefits:
