In urban environments, buildings are responsible for a significant portion of carbon emissions, contributing to climate change. Effective management of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems is crucial, as a large percentage of energy used in buildings is often wasted due to inadequate technology.
Parity specializes in Remote HVAC Optimization as a Service, providing continuous monitoring and management of HVAC systems to enhance energy efficiency and generate savings for multifamily residential buildings and hotels. Our advanced algorithms forecast energy requirements, allowing us to adjust building systems in real-time to meet occupant needs.
ROLE SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Senior Building Intelligence Engineer to ensure our clients' buildings are effectively integrated with Parity's services. This role requires a strong background in engineering and expertise in HVAC automation/control systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform on-site evaluations of client buildings to estimate potential savings and integration costs.
- Utilize Parity's analytical tools to conduct energy assessments based on site evaluations, historical utility data, and existing mechanical specifications.
- Oversee the installation and setup phases of Parity's services, ensuring timely project completion while keeping clients informed.
- Facilitate communication between Parity's software and client building systems, testing control sequences with support from our programming team.
- Finalize system commissioning to meet all requirements set by Parity, clients, and incentive programs.
- Manage the incentive application process on behalf of Parity.
- Engage with building staff to identify existing control challenges.
- Assist the sales team with market insights and proposal development.
- Act as a technical resource for the service delivery team for buildings already utilizing Parity's system.
- Collaborate with Operations to support clients during and after installation.
- Maintain knowledge of local incentive programs and their eligibility criteria.
- Build relationships with local contractors in electrical, mechanical, and controls sectors.
- Oversee procurement of necessary hardware and installation services.
- Enhance existing systems and processes for optimal service delivery.
- Serve as an expert on local building emissions regulations and relevant policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Engineering with a focus on HVAC, building automation, or mechanical/electrical engineering.
- 2-5 years of experience in energy auditing, MEP engineering, or building automation.
- Familiarity with energy incentive programs.
- Willingness to travel within the designated area.
- A proactive learner with a strong desire to grow in a dynamic startup environment.
- Ability to quickly adapt and improve processes.
- Focus on efficiency and optimization in all tasks.
- Preference for candidates with experience in MEP drawings, project management, or building automation systems.
