Geode Capital Management, LLC is seeking a Principal Test Automation Engineer (Principal TAE) to work within the Test Automation Team which sits within the Quality Chapter. The Principal TAE will lead the process of designing, building, implementing, and maintaining test automation at Geode and act as both a thought leader and mentor to their teammates. As Principal TAE, you will help design and draft a test automation strategy and work towards implementing it and continuously improving upon it. Principal TAE work with fellow Quality Chapter Members to contribute expertise to our organizational, test management and dynamic test processes which are used to support our members by providing quality assurance to the control function testing provides in the SDLC.
We're looking for the Principal TAE to lay the foundation for test automation and lead the effort from infancy to maturity. This role is as much about creativity as it is about practicality, efficiency, effectiveness, and maintainability. Our goal is a good solid foundation that is easy to use and maintain. We're looking to inject quality assurance and controls into every aspect of the SDLC and test automation will be a key factor. As Principal TAE, you have the chance to work with knowledgeable individuals who are passionate about testing and putting out quality products and features. This is a hybrid work environment opportunity with a weekly in-off schedule of Tuesdays – Thursdays with remote work availability on Mondays and Fridays.
Qualifications:

  • This is an individual contributor who enjoys collaborating with colleagues

  • Strong technical expertise and a firm understanding of computer science with practical experience building out test automation frameworks that are efficient, effective, practical, and scalable

  • Enjoys challenging the status quo
  • Must love sharing observations to help the organization continually improve, especially in Agile development
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps and CI/CD and be able to work collaboratively with the Platform Services team
  • Practical experience working with the full SDLC including coding and testing standards as well as source control management, build processes, testing processes
  • Experience with developing cloud solutions on AWS and working with containers, and CI/CD tools
  • Practical experience or a technical degree is necessary

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, implementation, buildout, and maintenance of the test automation frameworks
  • Choose a test framework(s) which best fits with our technology stack and initially focusing on integration testing such as ETL and API
  • Extremely influential in the development of a test automation strategy as we undergo a complete replacement of our current system
  • Spearhead, support, and influence best practices that contribute to the quality of the product
  • Serve as a Technical Lead for the Automation Guild and work within the Quality Chapter to support squad and cross-squad work
  • Work cross-functionally to integrate platform level automation efforts with test automation efforts
  • Be a thought leader in test automation within the organization. One who is excited about sharing knowledge through group conversation or 1:1. Assisting the manager in the career development of more junior team members, or fellow Quality Chapter members.
