Position Overview:

The role of the Student Success Advisor is essential for providing assistance to the educational framework, specifically focusing on students identified through the MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) process. This position entails collaborating with the Student Services Department to support students requiring additional academic and emotional guidance, as well as facilitating communication with parents and developing individualized student support plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designs engaging activities and educational materials under the guidance of professional staff to reinforce classroom learning objectives.
  • Implements various strategies to assist teachers in managing classroom behavior while achieving educational goals.
  • Employs intervention techniques as directed to maintain a secure and supportive environment for students.
  • Participates in meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge relevant to job responsibilities.
  • Collaborates with instructional staff and support personnel to assess student progress and implement tailored educational plans.
  • Executes plans developed by the student services team under supervision to reinforce learning concepts.
  • Maintains organized records and instructional materials to ensure accessibility and compliance with educational standards.
  • Updates and maintains necessary certifications to ensure professional development and compliance.
  • Exemplifies positive interpersonal skills and behaviors to model effective communication and social interactions for students.
  • Provides instructional support to students in both individual and group settings, focusing on academic subjects and essential life skills.
  • Documents daily and weekly observations related to student behavior and academic performance to maintain accurate records.

Additional Duties:

  • Performs other related tasks as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the educational unit.

Qualifications:

Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to evolving job requirements. Proficient in using standard office equipment and software applications, along with maintaining accurate documentation.

Knowledge: Understanding of basic mathematics, instructional procedures, and child development stages. Familiarity with safety practices and conflict resolution techniques is essential.

Abilities: Capable of scheduling activities, gathering data, and collaborating with diverse groups. Must demonstrate problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing priorities.

Work Environment: The position requires physical activity, including lifting, walking, and standing, while working in a safe and clean atmosphere.

Experience: Previous experience in a related field is preferred.

Certifications: A valid Substitute Teaching License is required.
