Core Responsibilities:

Instructional Delivery and Assessment
  • Design or adapt comprehensive, standards-aligned unit and lesson plans that cater to the diverse learning needs of all students.
  • Utilize assessment data to adjust both short-term and long-term instructional strategies to enhance student academic performance.
  • Welcome and incorporate constructive feedback to foster continuous improvement.
  • Maintain precise records, including grade books and data tracking systems.
Academic and Cultural Support
  • Take personal accountability for student success.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to cultivate an environment that encourages critical thinking and academic excellence.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with students and families based on mutual trust and respect.
  • Engage in daily school activities, including supervision during morning, lunch, and afternoon periods.
  • Participate in essential school events such as staff meetings and student-led conferences.
  • Fulfill professional responsibilities, ensuring punctuality and adherence to deadlines.
  • Embody the cultural expectations of the school community.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong focus on achieving results and a commitment to collaborative teamwork.
  • Deep dedication to educational equity and serving underserved communities.
  • Valid teaching license in Missouri with necessary certification for the assigned subject and grade level.
  • Proven expertise in the core subject area.
  • Successful completion of a background check.

Note: Candidates currently pursuing certification may apply prior to obtaining it. All certifications must be submitted to KIPP Kansas City before the conclusion of the first year of employment.

Compensation: The salary for this role is competitive and commensurate with experience. KIPP Kansas City also provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance and retirement plans.
