Job Title: Optimization Specialist

Midwest Machinery Co. is seeking a highly skilled Optimization Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our precision farming team, you will be responsible for executing our demo strategy and showcasing John Deere's Precision Ag products as an end-to-end solution across large ag platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the Large Ag demo strategy for Midwest Machinery Co.
  • Work with Account Managers to visit customers and optimize equipment and technology.
  • Assist the Precision Farming Director in identifying low market share areas to place demos.
  • Teach customers to utilize features they purchased and then demo new features.
  • Support Precision Specialists in the completion of Precision Field Teams.
  • Lead internal and external product training.
  • Use John Deere Operation Center to monitor machine performance and help Account Managers analyze data and present to customers.
  • Identify demo equipment needs for Midwest Machinery Co. regions.
  • Maintain dealership vehicle and other equipment as assigned.
  • Interact in a positive and respectful manner with customers and fellow employees.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and support customers in season as required.
  • Maintain and promote a safe work environment.
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree (bachelor's preferred) in Agronomy, Agriculture Business, Agriculture Mechanization, Computer Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years' experience in an agriculture-related role.
  • 2+ years' experience in operating large agricultural equipment.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and wireless communication systems.
  • Knowledge of database software and computer application systems.
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.
  • Ability to speak and write effectively one-on-one and within a group.
  • Ability to take highly technical information and explain it in understandable terms to a diverse audience.
  • Works independently with little supervision and problem-solving capabilities.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • Frequent bending and stooping.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Occasional work outdoors in extreme heat or cold, rain or snow.
  • Occasional work on ladders or at elevated heights.
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record required.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background study.
