Job Overview

OWN - Our World Neighborhood Charter Schools is seeking a dedicated Education Support Specialist to join our team. This role plays a vital part in providing students with a first-class learning experience that maximizes their intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the classroom teacher in delivering content and instruction that ensures student achievement of academic standards.
  • Assist in planning and preparing lessons, activities, and materials for students.
  • Provide individualized support to students as needed, promoting academic growth and confidence.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and students to ensure a collaborative and supportive school community.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  2. Appropriate credentials as designated by the NY State Education Department.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a focus on student success.
  5. Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational setting.
