Job Summary

Sovah Health - Martinsville is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working closely with our medical team to develop and implement treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic testing and analyze patient data to develop effective treatment plans.
  • Consult with physicians to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment.
  • Deliver and assess response to ordered therapy, monitoring patient condition and communicating with medical team as needed.
  • Evaluate respiratory care policies and procedures to ensure best practices and patient outcomes.
  • Respond to codes and emergent assistance, assessing patient condition and delivering appropriate treatment.
  • Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions and provide information on community resources.
  • Monitor and maintain respiratory care supplies and equipment, ensuring proper storage and calibration.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Care Therapy required.
  • Graduate of a Program in Respiratory Care Therapy required.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association certification required within six months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American Heart Association certification required within six months of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification required within six months of hire.
  • Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT) or eligible to take the NBRC's Registered Respiratory Therapist exams and have passed the RRT exam within 18 months of hire required.
  • Licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia, to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) required.
