Key Responsibilities

The Laboratory Technician plays a crucial role in the preparation and analysis of specimens within the laboratory setting. This position involves conducting tests, documenting results, and addressing any issues that may arise during the testing process.

Primary Duties
  1. Conducts tests as directed by the Laboratory Manager, ensuring compliance with educational and technical qualifications.
  2. Follows established laboratory protocols for specimen handling, analysis, and result reporting.
  3. Keeps accurate records of proficiency testing to ensure consistency with patient specimen testing.
  4. Implements quality control measures, documenting all activities related to instrument calibration and maintenance.
  5. Identifies and resolves issues that could impact test accuracy, promptly notifying supervisors when necessary.
  6. Records all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from established performance standards.
  7. Adheres to all regulatory standards and health safety protocols.
  8. Processes patient samples, ensuring proper division and analysis while coordinating with other lab personnel.
  9. Utilizes information systems effectively for laboratory operations.
  10. Performs additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess one of the following: (1) a licensed MD/DO/DPM; (2) a Doctoral, Master's, Bachelor's, or Associate's degree in a laboratory science; or (3) equivalent education or experience in laboratory science with relevant clinical training or experience.

Work Environment

This full-time role requires a commitment to a professional work environment, involving various tasks such as writing, typing, and operating standard office and medical equipment.
