The Arkansas Government Job is seeking a highly skilled Chemical Analyst to join our team in the Department of Agriculture. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for conducting chemical analysis and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our testing programs.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and conduct professional-level quantitative and qualitative chemical analysis and document results.
- Guide laboratory technicians on the use of laboratory equipment and preparation for laboratory tests.
- Set up equipment for analysis, calibrate instruments, and prepare standard solutions and reagents for use in chemical analysis.
- Assist with maintaining lab equipment and instruments, including glassware, using specified cleaning techniques.
- Conduct proficiency tests of laboratories and institutions for quality control of testing programs.
- Audit lab records of law enforcement agencies, petroleum industry, independent laboratories, and hospitals to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- May appear in court when analytical results are disputed to explain and/or verify analytical results.
- The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in chemistry.
- Two years of experience in a chemistry laboratory or a related field.
Frequent exposure to hazardous chemicals and materials is required.
