The Project Delivery division at New York Power Authority is looking for a Project Engineer to become a vital member of their Waterway Infrastructure team. This role involves significant responsibilities in leading and executing revitalization initiatives for the New York State Canal System, enhancing the Erie Canal for the benefit of local communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects through all phases of the project lifecycle
  • Supervise resources and activities associated with the project
  • Ensure adherence to standards and regulations
  • Review and contribute to project documentation
  • Prepare bid documents and assess proposals
  • Assist junior Project Engineers
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Fundamental understanding of related fields
  • Awareness of advancements in the industry
  • Comprehension of NYPA's operations
  • Strong skills in presentation and negotiation
  • Proven ability to manage projects effectively
Qualifications, Experience, and Certifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline
  • At least 4 years of technical or engineering experience
  • Certifications such as EIT and PMP are preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25%
  • Ability to enter confined spaces and navigate power system apparatuses
  • Readiness to visit vendor locations for construction activities
