As a Project Engineer, you will take full ownership of assigned projects, ensuring meticulous management and execution. Your role will involve:
- Effective communication with project teams, management, and external stakeholders to align on project goals.
- Maintenance and enhancement of existing products to ensure competitiveness in the market.
- Assisting in obtaining third-party certifications to validate product quality and reliability.
- Innovation through the development and testing of prototypes for new product concepts.
- Creation of detailed product specifications and comprehensive project development plans.
- Leading cost-saving initiatives through Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE).
Success Factors:
To excel in this role, you will need to:
- Ensure timely project completion while upholding the company's reputation for reliability.
- Create and execute Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for continuous product improvement.
- Identify and implement cost-reduction projects to enhance the company's financial performance.
- Conduct hands-on testing and validation of products to exceed industry standards.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 2 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.
- At least 1 year of experience with CAD/Solidworks modeling and the ability to produce 2D drawings.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Residency within a specified radius of the work location is required.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with phase gate project development.
- Experience in a global business environment.
- Proficiency in SAP.
- Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Experience with Voice of the Customer (VOC) methodologies.
- Background in designing steel, iron, and aluminum casting products.
- Experience in sheet metal stamping and spring steel product design.
