We are currently seeking a highly skilled Construction Consultant to join our Surety team at VERTEX, a leading professional services firm providing integrated forensic consulting, expert witness services, construction project advisory, and compliance and regulatory consulting.

About the Job

This Construction Consultant position involves evaluating construction claims, assessing project risks, and supporting surety providers in navigating complex challenges.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Evaluate construction claims and assess project risks to provide informed support to surety providers.
  • Monitor and inspect construction activities to ensure quality assurance and compliance with project specifications.
  • Review and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Perform technical evaluation of construction performance and payment bond claims.
  • Conduct audits of project schedules and finances, preparing detailed reports.
  • Review and prepare construction contract claims while supporting other regions as needed.
  • Manage project documentation and submit timely reports, including time sheets and expenses.
Qualifications and Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field (work experience considered in lieu of degree).
  • 2+ years of professional experience in construction project management or claim management.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical writing and project management skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and a solid understanding of construction contract administration, CPM scheduling, and CSI principles.

Compensation and Benefits

VERTEX offers a competitive total compensation package, including a base salary of $95,000 and discretionary bonus plan.
