Compensation and potential for additional earnings vary based on experience and geographical location. Opportunities are available throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Shop Positions - $56,000 - $70,000

If the selected candidate possesses qualifications indicative of a more advanced level in the career path, the job classification may be adjusted accordingly.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience with aerial devices, digger derricks, chippers, cranes; or construction, mining, agricultural equipment such as excavators, skid steers, dozers, or tractors; or military heavy machinery like MRAP vehicles, HMEE, or tanks; aircraft and aerospace ground support equipment (AGE/GSE) or similar
  • Previous experience in mechanics and/or equipment servicing
  • Educational background in mechanics, electrical, or hydraulic systems

Job Responsibilities:

  • Replace electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components as needed
  • Utilize all technical support resources (such as operator, parts, and maintenance manuals, HowFactory, etc.) for troubleshooting, procedural determination, and parts identification for repairs
  • Conduct Unit Condition Inspections and Reports
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
  • Execute all tasks in alignment with Altec Safety practices and procedures
  • Inform supervisors of any situations that may affect customer relations
  • Provide accurate and comprehensive information on all required documentation
  • Embody Altec Company Values in all interactions
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, state-approved High School Equivalency, or GED
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Physical capability to handle objects and tools weighing up to 75 pounds; frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and kneeling
  • High level of dexterity
  • Ability to provide basic tools as per Altec tool policy
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to support customers by working overtime as needed
  • Commitment to safety in all aspects of work
