Job Summary

Masser Metals is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment, including cranes and material handlers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment, including cranes and material handlers, to unload and load containers and semi-trucks.
  • Scrap Metal Processing: Assist in moving scrap metal of various sizes, shapes, and weights around the yard to be processed.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily inspections on equipment and report any defects or needed repairs to the supervisor.
  • Load Management: Determine load weights and verify against lifting capacities to prevent overloads and dangerous situations.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience operating heavy equipment in a construction, demolition, or scrap metal setting.
  • Weather Conditions: Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Safety: Ability to use personal protective equipment and safety equipment required.
  • Communication: Ability to carry out instructions provided in written or oral form.
  • Adaptability: Ability to learn new tasks as assigned.
