Key Responsibilities
  • Fundraising Strategy and Advancement Operations
    • Develop and lead forward-thinking strategies to achieve a diverse revenue stream to meet operational funding annually.
    • Partner with the Executive Team to define fundraising priorities as related to the organization's core values and strategic priorities.
    • Manage upcoming capital campaigns and future fundraising initiatives.
    • Implement a moves management program geared toward the retention, renewal, and increase of contributions from historic donors.
    • Develop and maintain internal systems that increase transparency and integration of data across the organization.
    • Recruit, hire, coach, and supervise team members and manage budgets related to the fundraising team.
  • Leadership and Oversight
    • Provide leadership to assigned committees of the Board of Directors.
    • Serve on the Executive Leadership Team as an advocate for advancing the organization's mission and supporting our youth.
    • Identify opportunities to enhance Board confidence and impact in fundraising conversations.
  • Corporate and Foundation Relations
    • Create and manage cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for the most promising corporate and foundation prospects, partnering with leadership and/or key staff members as relevant.
    • In partnership with the CEO and key staff, manage a portfolio of the organization's highest-capacity corporate and foundation funders (current and prospective).
    • Oversee the expansion of a philanthropic grants process, inclusive of grant application drafts and submissions, post-award reporting, and stewardship for current and prospective grant-related funders.
  • Individual Major Gifts
    • Identify and prioritize individual major gift prospects, leveraging existing relationships and staff and Board Member networks.
    • In partnership with the CEO and key staff, manage a portfolio of the organization's highest-capacity major gift donors (current and prospective).
    • Support and advise the CEO, the board of directors, and other senior staff on the cultivation and solicitation of major gift donors and prospects.
  • Annual Giving
    • Oversee the creation and implementation of a segmented annual giving strategy that seeks to increase donor retention and overall commitment levels to meet annual unrestricted operating fund needs.
    • With Development Associate, partner to develop and implement an annual giving solicitation strategy, with an emphasis on digital engagement.
  • Communications
    • Oversee creation and implementation of a segmented communications strategy and marketing plan that illustrates the compelling impact and outcomes of our work.
    • Partner with the Executive Team to create case statements for fundraising priorities.
    • Ensure staff and Board members have the necessary tools to communicate this information consistently and impactfully to external audiences.
    Requirements
    • Masters Degree Preferred
    • B.A./B.S. in related field required
    • Proven track record in fundraising from diverse sources, including experience applying moves management and facilitating leadership gift conversations with individual, corporate, and/or foundation donors.
    • Proven track record of leading people and processes within complex organizations, including coaching and motivating teams to successfully reach and/or exceed fundraising goals.
    • High ability to effectively manage processes and projects for multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, energy, and enthusiasm, with the ability to build long-term relationships and represent the organization to external audiences.
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write and present fundraising materials to a diverse audience.
    • Minimum 2 years relevant experience.
    • Valid Indiana Drivers License
