Job Summary

Horizon House is seeking a highly skilled Senior Advancement Officer to join our Development team. This key role will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive development plan to meet and exceed annual and long-term fundraising goals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fundraising, revenue generation, donor and relationship development, planned giving and capital campaigns. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with board members, staff, volunteers and the funding community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive development plan to meet and exceed annual and long-term fundraising goals
  • Secure funding and revenue to support organizational budget by identifying, cultivating and stewarding relationships with current and prospective donors
  • Develop, analyze and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy/program that includes all revenue streams
  • Track budgeted revenue to actuals and develop strategies to cover financial gaps
  • Oversee planning and implementation of special events to raise awareness and funds
  • Ensure processes are in place and executed to maintain accuracy of constituent data
  • Provide oversight and guidance to the Grants Coordinator on applications, administration and reporting of grants

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Philanthropy, Business, Marketing or other appropriate field required
  • Certified Fundraising Executive designation desired
  • 10 years' experience in managing development or operations in a non-profit agency with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity
  • Strong leadership skills, strategic thinker, and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
