Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and conducting programs that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our residents.
  • Encourage resident participation in activities and events, fostering a sense of community and social connection.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless execution of activities and events.
  • Maintain activity areas in a clean and organized manner, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for residents.
  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of activity supplies, games, and materials.
  • Oversee daily care of animals and plants within the activities program.
  • Prepare and distribute activity calendars, ensuring residents are informed about upcoming events.
  • Meet with new residents to introduce the activities program and provide a warm welcome.
  • Assist in leading wellness programs and initiatives, promoting resident health and well-being.
  • Manage a volunteer staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Address resident groups and other groups on topics of interest, promoting engagement and socialization.
  • Maintain a database of resident assessments, participation, and satisfaction, providing valuable insights for program improvement.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to three years' experience preferred in assisted living, long-term care, or experience/exposure to the senior population.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, speaking the primary language of the residents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to use software to design calendars and signs, use email, and the Internet.
  • Must demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population.
  • Interacts with guests, residents, and staff in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Responds promptly to resident needs.
  • Supports the organization's goals and values.
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Competent in organizational, time management skills, and the ability to coordinate and plan for event planning.
  • Must demonstrate good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to work semi-independently without direct supervision.
