Your contributions are vital. Every position plays a crucial role in the lives of our patients, and you have the chance to make a significant impact. We are seeking a committed Certified Respiratory Care Specialist to join our team.

Role Responsibilities and Qualifications

As a Respiratory Care Specialist, you will deliver therapeutic modalities as prescribed by physicians, manage all functions of mechanical ventilation (including initiation, operation, and monitoring), and conduct arterial punctures and blood gas evaluations. You will also be prepared to respond to emergency situations within your assigned areas.

  • Assist in the transport of ventilated and critically ill patients.
  • Confirm physician orders prior to administering therapy.
  • Provide thorough and accurate reports to incoming staff at the end of your shift.
  • Document all patient interactions in the appropriate systems.
  • Conduct regular equipment checks.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), licensed in Virginia.
  • Degree in Respiratory Therapy - either AAS or BS.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in critical care.
  • Experience in NICU settings.
  • Prior experience with mechanical ventilation, blood gas analysis, and oximetry.
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
