Position Overview:

We are seeking dedicated professionals for the role of Respiratory Therapist, with opportunities available for individuals ranging from recent graduates to seasoned experts. This role encompasses various specialties including Adult, Pediatrics, Flight, and Diagnostic services, with qualifications tailored to experience levels.

Key Responsibilities:

The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for delivering safe and effective respiratory care across diverse patient populations, including neonates, children, adults, and the elderly. This role adheres to established Clinical Practice Guidelines and hospital protocols.

In addition to providing direct patient care, the therapist will serve as a resource and educator for patients, their families, hospital staff, and students. In the absence of a supervisor, this position may also take on the responsibilities of a shift team leader.

Licensure and Certification Requirements:
  • Must hold a valid license as a Respiratory Therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Current certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as either a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is required.
  • CPR certification is mandatory based on the practice setting.
  • Preferred certifications include NRP and credentials from the National Asthma Educator Certification Board (NAECB).
Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist is required.
  • Preferred candidates will have at least two years of relevant experience and prior work in a similar healthcare environment.
Educational Background:
  • Completion of education and training that meets the eligibility criteria for the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program is preferred.
Independent Responsibilities:

The role includes conducting cardiopulmonary assessments, airway management, and collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care. Maintaining a clean and well-stocked work environment is also essential.
