Position Overview

Join our team at Automationtechies as a Technical Service Specialist. This role offers the flexibility of remote work within Wisconsin.

You will be provided with a company vehicle, enabling you to travel approximately 60% of the time within Wisconsin and Illinois. Compensation is based on actual hours worked. Our company is a recognized leader in the field of municipal and industrial control systems integration.

Work Environment

When not on the road, you will operate from your home office, receiving ongoing support from our dedicated team.

Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher in electrical technology, engineering, or a licensed journeyman electrician.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in the construction and wiring of PLCs, motor control panels, and motor control centers.
  • Familiarity with industrial networking components such as switches, patch panels, controllers, and graphical interface devices.
  • Field experience with industrial control panels, including wiring, startup, testing, maintenance, and service.
  • Experience with instrumentation such as level, flow, and pressure devices is preferred.
  • Knowledge of water/wastewater process control is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the installation of instrumentation equipment, including mounting devices and field wiring terminations, as well as startup and calibration.
  • Conduct field startup, testing, and troubleshooting of industrial control systems, including motor starters and control panels.
  • Construct and wire industrial PLC and motor control panels.
  • Startup and test PLC-based control systems, including industrial networking equipment and PC-based HMI software.
  • Modify and update PLC and HMI programs throughout the startup process.
  • Interpret control circuits, schematics, and line drawings for industrial control equipment.
  • Update schematic drawings following field installation and startup.
  • Engage with customers on-site, delivering exceptional service.
  • Collaborate closely with multiple Project Managers on various projects.
  • Create and/or update AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electric drawings.
  • Program HMI devices, including operator interface panels and PC workstations.
  • Program PLCs using Rockwell RSLogix 500 and 5000 software, from inception through completion.
  • Review electrical schematic drawings for quality and accuracy.
