As a Reliability Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our capital equipment for the semiconductor industry. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address potential reliability issues early in the design cycle, and develop and implement plans to ensure customer expectations are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to conduct system and component level reliability assessments, including warranty analysis, reliability predictions, and validation testing.
- Develop and implement plans incorporating Design for Reliability (DfR) principles, such as reliability plans, testing, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Lead projects to improve the Reliability culture within the organization by implementing industry standard practices, methodologies, and tools for reliability engineering.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve product quality and reliability, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, service, and quality teams.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for reliability and quality issues, ensuring effective resolution and prevent recurrence.
- Mentor and train engineering team members on quality tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), FMEAs, and problem-solving methods.
- Support Quality Assurance and ISO processes as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ Years of Demonstrated ability in reliability engineering of sophisticated systems or capital equipment preferably in the semiconductor industry.
- Certifications such as Reliability Engineer (CRE) or Quality Engineer (CQE) are a plus.
