Manufacturing Engineering Specialist

Role Overview
As a key member of the Beam Technologies team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will play a crucial role in the electron beam microscope operations engineering. Your primary responsibility will be to assist operations engineers in improving and sustaining efforts, ensuring seamless transitions from concept to release.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the team to complete projects, DOE studies, and statistical analysis to drive business growth and improve efficiency.
- Assist in the training of Manufacturing personnel in new product build, existing product improvements, testing, install, and repair procedures.
- Participate in engineering changes to support factory and service goals, focusing on yield and cost optimization.
- Conduct detailed analysis of system or component level problems affecting reliability and performance, utilizing statistical analysis tools like JMP software.
- Support the supply chain with engineering expertise, analyzing parts for reliability, manufacturability, and vendor qualification.
- Work with the thermal field emitter team to manufacture electron emitters and develop software applications using C#, Power BI, and Python.
Requirements
- University degree in a technical discipline such as chemistry, engineering, or physics.
- Master's degree a plus.
- Self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to plan and resolve issues involving multi-functional, multi-cultural groups and sites.
- Professional working proficiency in written and spoken English.
