About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Tech PRN to join our team at HCA Florida Palms West Hospital. As a Surgical Tech, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and prepare surgical equipment and supplies
  • Prepare sterile instrument tables and patient skin for surgery
  • Maintain aseptic techniques and monitor situations that could lead to breaches in aseptic technique
  • Position patients according to the type of surgery
  • Assist the surgical team during procedures, including passing instruments, sponges, and sutures
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Gather equipment for cleaning and sterilization
  • Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as required
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduate of a Surgical Scrub Tech Program
  • 3 years of recent acute care OR Tech experience preferred
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification
  • Ortho & Neuro experience helpful
