Civil Engineering Senior Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Senior Project Manager to join our team at Civil and Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC). As a key member of our Waste Management Practice, you will be responsible for managing project teams to complete engineering tasks, developing proposals and project budgets and schedules, and performing quality control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project teams to complete engineering tasks such as airspace and earthwork volume calculations, technical report preparation and review, stormwater management system design, leachate collection system design, and landfill gas collection system design.
  • Develop proposals and project budgets and schedules, and manage the engineering staff.
  • Perform quality control and ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Interact with clients, contractors, and local/state government officials to impact the whole project - from conceptual and design phases, through the regulatory review process, bidding, and construction.
  • Partner with our management teams to mentor and assist in the professional development of the staff, including the performance of annual reviews and the establishment of development goals.

Requirements:

  • 10-15 years' experience in civil engineering, or a relevant combination of experience and education.
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering (or related field), M.S. in Civil Engineering preferred.
  • Professional Engineer licensure (P.E.), with registration in MA or ability to obtain.
  • Expert in technical software and Civil Engineering technology, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydraulic/hydrologic modeling software, and geotechnical modeling software.
  • Established clients/contacts in the Solid Waste client sectors.
  • Ability to manage project portfolios in excess of $500,000 in annual professional fee revenues.
  • Experience in scope of service and budget (proposal) development, and demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably.
  • Ability to problem solve in a professional setting.
  • Participation in both client- and professional development-based organizations.
  • Excellent communication skills (speaking and writing), including experience communicating with staff, clients, contractors, and government regulatory officials.
