Job Summary

Barton Associates Careers is seeking a seasoned IT professional to lead our Desktop Engineering and Application Support team. As a Manager of Desktop Engineering, you will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of desktop infrastructure, manage inventory, and develop standardization policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of desktop engineers and application support specialists
  • Establish performance goals, conduct regular evaluations, and provide feedback
  • Cultivate an environment that emphasizes continuous improvement, customer service, and technical excellence
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of desktop infrastructure
  • Manage inventory for desktop hardware, software licenses, and support tools
  • Develop and enforce standardization policies for desktop hardware and software
  • Deploy and maintain System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) for efficient device management
  • Provide and manage help desk support for both SaaS and proprietary applications
  • Ensure high availability and performance of all supported applications
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve complex application issues
  • Develop and maintain knowledge bases and support documentation
  • Implement and monitor service level agreements (SLAs) for support requests
  • Analyze help desk metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance productivity and reduce costs
  • Develop strategies to enhance user satisfaction and engagement with IT services
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in IT support, with at least 2 years in a team lead role
  • Strong knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems and SCCM
  • Experience with SaaS application support and management
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and IT service management best practices
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • MCSE, ITIL, or other relevant certifications are a plus
