About the Role

Hill Construction Company is seeking a seasoned Estimator and Preconstruction Manager to join our team. This critical role will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with luxury residential construction projects.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a deep understanding of the luxury homebuilding process. They will work closely with design teams and clients to present RFPs, preconstruction exercises, and Cost Estimates, ensuring our firm secures future projects and has accurate budgets as we transition into the construction phase.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and schedules for luxury custom home projects, including materials, labor, and general conditions costs.
  • Review and analyze drawings, specifications, and other documents to develop comprehensive estimates.
  • Source and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, and clients to understand project specifications and requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Hill Construction company standards, industry standards, materials, and construction techniques.
  • Provide value engineering options to optimize cost without compromising quality.
  • Participate in project meetings and site visits as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes and regulations.
Requirements
  • 5 years minimum direct experience with estimating (luxury residential estimating preferred).
  • Ability to thoroughly interpret and bid construction plans.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of subcontractor scopes.
  • Ability to effectively, and professionally communicate with project owners, architects, and our office team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools (Bluebeam, Procore, Excel, Management Software).
  • Strong understanding of high-end residential construction methods and materials.
What We Offer

Hill Construction Company offers a competitive salary range of $75,000 - $115,000, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, Paid Time Off, a 401k retirement plan with employer matching, cell phone reimbursement, fuel reimbursement, and a potential year-end bonus.
